First appearing in the early 1980s, the Rainier has made fleeting reappearances over the years with brands like Norse Projects and more recently Aimé Leon Dore pulling it from the archives to reintroduce younger audiences to it's classic design and sturdy construction in fresh new colourways and materials. The URAINOG rocks the "Glazed Ginger" colourway which is as old as the shoe itself, an almost exact replica of the pair mountaineering legend Lou Whittaker successfully wore whilst climbing the north face of Mount Everest in '82.
