This December sees New Balance rework two titans of the MiUK line in the M1500 & M991. No strangers to reworking a Flimby made shoe in Harris Tweed New Balance present an elegant seasonal update to both styles making use of archive cuts of the storied Scottish fabric. 2007 marked the last time the brand utilised the heavy-duty woven tweed fabric.
The 1500 uses a butter-soft nubuck upper paired alongside the blue and grey weaved tweed for a satisfying contrast in textures and appearance. Further detailing arrives via grey leather overlays embroidered branding on the midsection, heel wrap and tongue as well a subtle 3M reflective pop on the toe box with a gum outsole running beneath the signature wedge ENCAP unit.
