Mizuno deliver another well researched and executed pack, this time the "Mask Pack" pays homage to the Japanese Noh tradition of dance-drama dating back to the 14th Century. The performers of Noh undergo years of training, following a strict set of rules in order to fulfil the stories told. A key aspect of Noh are the impressive wooden masks, that represent values, emotions and animals, painted with the high level finesse you can expect from traditional Japanese culture as a whole. Mizuno take these values of Noh and implement them into three of their core models, dying the uppers using the same pigments used to paint the Noh masks.
This Sky Medal bears the name Kitsune, which represents the playful spirit of the fox. Originally released in '95 the Contender continues it's legacy as a comfortable, lightweight and all-round reliable sneaker perfect for running, walking and everything in between. The upper uses a mixture of materials, with premium suede overlays wrapping around a tight mesh body to create a high energy silhouette. Underneath comes a compression moulded EVA midsole with Mizuno's Transpower cushioning technology inserted at the heel that provides unbound comfort & support.
