To pay homage to the 30th anniversary of Diadora’s iconic silhouette, the brand joined forces with Dutch streetwear and sneaker boutique Patta to work together on their fifth project. The shoes echo Patta’s historic relationship with football and take inspiration from a 90s beloved Italian striker.
The “9” detail on the heel is presented in the style of Christian “Bobo” Vieri’s famous football jersey. Throughout the striker’s career, he was sporting the number 9 jersey, as he would lead his teams to victory. The Italian player is one of the best strikers in the history of Italian football and at one point the world most expensive football player in the world breaking records, when he was traded from Lazio to Inter Milan in the summer of 1999 for €43 Million Euros. Vieri’s nomadic football career was sponsored by Diadora during the early 2000s in which he would secure even more Championships as well as being voted by Pele into the FIFA 100, a list of the 125 best living football players.
