Home of the first non-slip boat shoe, Sperry is the ultimate destination for nautical style. Although originally created as a brand for sailors, Sperry has evolved to create a wide range of lifestyle footwear, including boots, sandals, loafers, sneakers and slippers. As well as their loyal customer base of sailors and seamen, Sperry has also developed somewhat of a cult following, releasing collabs with the likes of A Bathing Ape, Band of Outsiders and NOAH.

Established in 1935, Sperry was founded by a man named Paul Sperry, an avid sailor and inventor from Connecticut. After slipping on the deck of his boat and falling overboard, he was inspired to create a non-slip boat shoe – the likes of which didn’t yet exist. While experimenting with different options, he noticed that his cocker spaniel, Prince, could run down an icy hill without slipping. After inspecting the groves on Prince’s paw, he designed a shoe with a herringbone pattern of grooves on the rubber sole, creating the world’s first non-slip boat shoe.

Over 80 years since the first shoe was released, Sperry dipped into their archives to create the Cloud Collection ­– an iconic range that takes inspiration from the brand’s original silhouettes. The collection is part of a longstanding collaboration with Brendon Babenzien, founder of men’s streetwear brand NOAH. For OG style and 90s beach vibes, you can’t do better.
