Created by Dutch hip-hop DJs Edson Sabajo and Guillaume ‘Gee’ Schmidt, Patta was born from a love of high-quality sneakers and one-off items. The guys knew absolutely nothing about business, but they knew everything about streetwear. So, armed with nothing but cash and a whole load of optimism, Edson and Gee headed to New York, filling duffle bags with shoes and sending them back to Amsterdam. When they got back, they started selling their haul out of a tiny shop in the heart of the city. Soon, they were selling sneakers by the dozen. And they’ve never looked back.
Now an internationally-recognised brand, Patta has worked with acclaimed brands like Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Vans, Converse, Puma and many more, as well as establishing their own eclectic in-house brand of streetwear. Back in the earlier days, the Patta logo was only used to make a small batch of tees for Edson and Gee’s friends and family. When the demand grew for the duo’s in-house range, Patta launched their first official collection in 2011.
Over the years, Patta has developed an international cult following, with the brand eventually opening a London store in the middle of Soho. Hanon is one of three UK retailers to stock Patta clothing, with a range that spans from sweatshirts and bomber jackets to polo shirts and graphic tees.
