New Balance Tokyo Design Studio FuelCell RC Elite V2

New Balance's innovative design project, named Tokyo Design Studio, returns to their impressively constructed FuelCell RC Elite v2 model after the success of their collaborative effort with Stone Island. This is a performance runner, but bares all the qualities of an aesthetically pleasing silhouette, blurring the lines between fashion and function entirely.

An engineered mesh upper acts as the underlayer for premium synthetic overlays in a rugged cutaway style that brings something new to the table, the combination of materials make for a texture heavy affair that is eye candy for design enthusiasts. The colourway is a nod to the iconic 1300JP model that combines a steely blue with crisp vetiver green, perfect for the New Balance crowd that know those hues so well. The performance aspect can really be seen in the Fuel Cell midsole that works in tandem with a full length carbon fiber plate that capitalises on energy return with every step.
