Collection: Adidas Forum Sneakers
Originally released in the 80s as a basketball shoe, the Adidas Forum has seen dozens of new styles and colourways, including the introduction of a low-cut version. The innovative design of the original Forum Mid silhouette made the sneaker an instant hit both on and off the courts, and the trainer quickly became one of the most coveted 80s hoops styles.
One of the reasons the original Forum sneaker was so popular with 80s B-ball players was the innovative details. Underfoot, a nylon net functioned as a shock absorber, making them great for those hard basketball courts. To the heel, a built-in rubber cup gave added protection. They also featured a leather ankle strap, which helped keep the foot in place and prevent injuries. This distinctive strap became an iconic part of the shoe, remaining a defining feature on the modern forum designs.
Since its release, the Adidas Forum sneaker has been redesigned in a variety of colourways and styles, including a host of low-cut versions. This low design sees on-court technology meet off-court style, creating a bold look that works well as a fashion shoe. Adidas also released a Primeknit version, catering for any winter basketball players out there.
