Vault by Vans comes together with Bianca Chandôn with a shared desire to explore the referential meaning behind the stars. The way in which we are accustomed to their five-pointed shape from childhood to the meaning they take on as you enter adulthood and the influence, they have beyond the beauty we see in the vast sky. This exploration of thought is translated into a four-piece Vault by Vans footwear collection.

First established in 2014 by Alex Olson, Bianca Chandôn blends the worlds of fashion and skateboarding through designs that pull references seamlessly from ‘70s counterculture, ‘80s clubbing and ‘90s anti-fashion to produce coveted apparel and goods. Each delivery of product explores areas of culture that seem to be forgotten, rejected, or just simply not thought of. The Vault by Vans x Bianca Chandôn collection is based on the shape of stars and how we are so familiarized with shape throughout our lives within mainstream media. Bringing the star concept together with inspiration from the iconic Vault by Vans checkerboard series, these stars are meant to create something familiar to those that wear them and something completely different simultaneously.

The four-piece footwear assortment includes the Sk8-Hi Reissue VLT LX, Old Skool VLT LX, Authentic VLT LX and the Classic Slip-On VLT LX. Each silhouette utilizes premium cotton-canvas uppers stressed to reveal a pre-worn look and feel to each model. The five-point star graphic has been applied to an all-over repeated pattern similar yet different to Vans’ checkerboard pattern. Each pair is finished with Bianca Chandôn branding that appears to be handwritten in blue ink across the heel counter of each shoe.
