Saucony x Sneaker Politics "Cafe Du Monde"

This July Saucony Originals teams up with US retailer Sneaker Politics to drop a limited Shadow 5000 inspired by legendary local eatery “Café Du Monde” and their fabled Beignets! - A collaboration I fully get down with.
Café Du Monde in New Orleans first opened its doors to hungry patrons in 1862 in the French market district serving up traditional French style Beignets. A French doughnut that’s lavishly topped with powdered icing sugar and enjoyed with a piping hot cup of joe - as seen in Jon Favreau's 2014 feel-good foodie flick ‘Chef’-.
Turning our attention to Sneaker Politics work on the Shadow 5000 were greeted with a similarly exquisite blend of well-sourced ingredients from premium cuts of suede that Saucony collabs have become known for, to supple leather & uber smooth nubuck. A light speckle effect adds flavour to the doughy colour palette and keeps the storytelling on point. A sprinkling of old school sports mesh harks back to the shoe’s days as a performance runner as well as offering great breathability and keeping that toe box shape sharp.
Signing off the collaboration between Saucony & Sneaker Politics is a custom box modelled off a Café Du Monde’s signature dough mix, co-branded leather footbeds, two lace sets, and a brace of branded woven tongue labels sign off this tasty treat.
The Saucony Shadow 5000 x Sneaker Politics "Cafe Du Monde" launches at HANON July 5th.
