PUMA Velophasis Event - Berlin, Germany

Earlier this month, PUMA introduced their brand new silhouette; the Velophasis. To celebrate, we headed out to Berlin, Germany, for a sculptor workshop hosted by Richard Green which was held at Lobe Block otherwise known as Terrassenhaus Berlin; a brutalist-style building in Mitte.
Arriving at the space, we put on a set of PUMA branded overalls, grabbed a pair of safety glasses and some protective shoe covers, and we were ready to get started. The workshop was split into two, and we began by picking out a plaster block marked with our shoe size before hauling it outside where it was now ready to be chipped away at. Putting the hammer and chisel to one side, we opted for a slightly quicker option, and with sledgehammer in hand, and a number of strategic blows to the plaster block later, we began to reveal the PUMA Velophasis housed inside the block. It was definitely the most unique unboxing we've ever done.

For the second part of the workshop, we were working with the quick-drying plaster to cast a complete PUMA Velophasis. We began by creating our mix, pouring it into the mold, and then creating a seal by placing the already cast first side on top. Once dried, we separated the cast plaster from the mold and were presented with a complete Velophasis cast. We tidied the join up a little, and then we were able to get creative by decorating it with paint.

We returned to a packed Lobe Block later that evening to celebrate with drinks and a strong line up of guest DJ sets.
