STAMPD Alongside Puma launch the commemorative 88-18 sneaker in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the PUMA iconic Suede. The suede made its debut in 1968, quickly becoming a game changer in sport and culture.
“In 1988, 20 years after the Suede launch, I got my hands on my first pair,” Said STAMPD creative director, Chris Stamp. “The brands I’ve been fortunate to align with are brands I grew up idolizing – brands that inspired me. This one hit home and it was important to make it special from the sole to laces.”
STAMPD, has remastered the Suede with clean sophistication. The result: The 88-18 Suede Sneaker which takes on the characteristics of two shoes in one; With an upper designed with smooth, premium suede while the lower mirrors an unfinished design with rough edges and a textured soul.
“The Suede simply represents what we at PUMA stand for as a brand,” says Helmut Fischer, PUMA’s chief archivist. “Taking a standard and making it a must-have. Being iconic.”
