ON LOCATION: Puma "Ride On" Pack

This week we’re in Dubai, gearing up to attend Sole DXB. The annual footwear, music, art, and lifestyle festival takes place in the Dubai Design District and has established quite a name for itself amongst the industry giants.

Pre-event, we found ourselves deep in the desert in Margham, just outside Dubai for a shoot with Puma - who will be exhibiting later in the week. Escaping the UK climate, (at least for a few days!) we were invited to to get a first hand look at the Puma “Ride On” pack. The pack continues the Rider Series’ legacy with three updated models - The Future Rider, Style Rider and Fast Rider.

A 5.30am shoot start meant we were on location to capture the Middle Eastern sunrise - scenes worth getting up for! As we kick off with the Future Rider, the red hues of the backdrop provide the ideal compliment for its matching laces and sole. The new models feature the OG silhouette in all its '80s glory- with bold colour-blocking, a fresh material mix and signature look.

Mid morning, we’re now greeted by clear blue skies and are on foot with the equally pleasing blue, black and grey colourway of the Style Rider. Suede toe and heel overlays give a softer touch, whilst the shock-absorbing Federbein outsole adds support. As we continue into the unknown, it’s a bumpy ride up the sand dunes in pursuit of the “perfect” shot..When in Dubai!

Later in the day, we switch sand for the streets as we venture to downtown Dubai. Known for its tall architecture, including the Burj Khalifa at an impressive 2,717 feet, the urban landscape doesn’t disappoint. High rises dot the sidewalks as we get a feel for the cultural contrast from desert to city. A few pieces from the upcoming HANON SS20 collection make a cameo, including a new minimalist take on the HANON tee.

As we dust the sand off of our Puma Rider’s, the day draws to a close and we look ahead to Sole DXB on Friday.

Huge thanks to Puma for having us.

The Puma “Ride On” pack will be available at HANON on 6th December 2019.
