The year is 1992, and arguably the greatest basketball team of all time takes home the world championship to the USA. The team was assembled with America’s most elite players including the man behind the Jumpman, Michael Jordan.
Conquering the best competition the world had to offer while doing it by never seen before margins not only added another milestone to MJ’s resume, but also made the shoes on his feet an instant classic.
At that time, His Airness wore the Air Jordan 7 in an Olympic themed colourway. Decades later, original sketches by Tinker Hatfield of an alternate colourway was taken from the vault and comes to life in the Air Jordan 7 Retro “Alternate”.
Tinker’s 1992 sketch dresses the Air Jordan 7 in Team USA’s colours. Gold accents grace the Jumpman branding and lace tips as a nod to the team’s victory. An American flag sits on the back heel of the shoe with a number nine, MJ’s Olympic number.
