New Balance MRL247MT x Mita “Tokyo Rat”

The New Balance “247” was released simultaneously worldwide on January 7, 2017. From this “247” Series, New Balance will launch the MRL247.

This collaboration model is based on the “MRL247” which concept is “24 Hours/7 Days a Week”. It is embodying it through a design inspired from the “RATS” that keeps moving everywhere, day and night, in the undergrounds and the rooftops of “Tokyo”.

Different tones of grey are nicely placed, and pale pink colors are used on the details. Suede and hairy-suede of various lengths are used on the side panels and the heels. Inspired by the nocturnal behaviour of the “RATS”, reflector is used on the NB logo, side panel, and the heel tabs to increase the visibility at night-time.

Breathable and resistant double-layered sporty mesh and its welded structure provide great comfort and adding a subtle accent to the design. The booty structure combines high elasticity and breathable “nylon mesh”. The highly breathable and deodorizing “ORTHOLITE” insoles that keep a
dry and comfortable feeling, releasing moisture from multiple micro air holes, and the shock-absorbing and resistant “open cell polyurethane, provide a comfortable fit.
