For the final MARATHONA release of the season, HUMMEL HIVE has opted for a classic summer colourway that features lightweight material updates of their coveted retro running style.
The MARATHONA was initially designed for long distance runners and one of the very few running silhouettes in hummel’s vast archive. This lightweight 80’s running shoe, was first reintroduced at the end of 2016 as a collaboration with two prestigious sneaker stores; Overkill and Mita.
The MARATHONA BLU reissue stays true to the original silhouette with elongated panelling and detailed ventilation eyelets, a key design feature from hummel at the time. The upper consists of mixed material white and black leather and sky blue nylon panels. The heel tab is constructed from sky blue PU with black letter hummel branding, whilst the stabilising TPU heel counter is blacked out. The midsole continues the white/black/sky blue tricolour pattern from the upper, which further highlights the crisp white upper.
