Having kicked off 2019's 'City Series' in style with an accurate and timely reissue of the Brussels, adidas return with part 2 a reissue of the Rom.
The 'Rom' (aka Rome) had existed in some sort of guise in the adidas roster since the early days, but it's the 70's redux that put the name 'Rom' on the metaphorical map. Launched as a training shoe in the 1970's the Rom used an EVA rubber sole unit with a chunky gum outsole complemented by ripple like grip portions. the upper was classic adidas of the period, a leather upper, with contrasting colour leather stripes, suede overlays and gold foil lettering proudly signifying the shoes name.
The 2019 edition doesn't stray far from that original formula, boasting a leather collar lining and a textured vintage style tongue for added authenticity. A worthy addition to this year's City Series and ideal for anyone still yearning after a pair of Team Zissou's signature shoe.
