Anglozine - Season 1

After discussing clothing and the origins of styles sported now and the past few decades, over countless cappuccinos- Anglozine was launched in late 2017 London by Ruben Billingham. For their debut collection Anglozine produce a collection manufactured in the United Kingdom & Italy sourcing fabrics from institutions such as Halley Stevensons, all with great attention to detail capturing the mood and aesthetic of its inspiration.
We'll let Ruben talk us through all things Anglozine and the inspiration for this seasons collection.

"Ever since 1982 running the school tuck shop and laying out the stall with wagon wheels; I sneaked in mix tapes and fanzines. Still fascinated by the hunt for hard to find styles, Anglozine taps into its cavernous archive. Subculture styles respected and made relevant for today in pursuit of quality and authenticity."

"Manufacturing their garments mainly in the UK allows for greater: ease, quality and authenticity. Most of the factories working on these styles remember them first time around”

For their inaugural season, Anglozine draw inspiration from the "Cappuccino Kids" the nom de plume of the writer of sleeve notes for the band The Style Council active from 1983-1987.

"There are a good few parallels between now and then facing Thatcher/Brexit in penny loafers. The continental spirit of the band and their drool worthy clothing still hits the right note today."

"The Cappuccino Kid’s coffee bar existentialist musings were central to the bands style landscape. In this our inaugural season at anglozine, we pay tribute to all you Cappuccino Kids..."
