This latest shoe from adidas you guessed it takes it's name from the Moss Side area of Manchester. Home to a wide and diverse cross section of people since its formation. From women's suffrage leader and all round hero Emmeline Pankhurst to George Garrett a bloke who is credited with inventing both a diving suit and the Submarine?! As well as A Guy Called Gerald or Gerald Simpson to give him his full name whose handiness with a Rhythm composer shaped the sound of an era.
The Moss Side represents adidas's first 'Sustainable' shoe in the terrace shoe market. Following in the footsepts of their efforts recently with Parley & those PrimeGreen Stan Smiths with Kermit the frog. adidas honour the underground influence that the suburb has had on music culture, while also taking inspiration from two infamous adidas' trainers: the AS 600 and the '79 TRX Mesh. Constructed with recycled materials, featuring a premium mesh upper finished with gold accents. Made with a series of recycled materials, this upper features at least 50% recycled content. This product represents just one of adi's solutions to help end plastic waste.
