The Garwen SPZL is a new shoe from the adidas Spezial range inspired by the adidas Brisbane boots – one of the lesser known releases from the original 1980s adidas Leisure series.
In order to develop the Garwen SPZL, adidas fan and rock star Noel Gallagher kindly lent his vintage adidas Brisbanes to the Spezial product team as a reference sample. Noel has been a fan of the three stripes since long before his days with supergroup Oasis and over the years has amassed a sizeable collection of adidas trainers.
By way of saying thanks and acknowledging his support, adidas Spezial have worked with Noel to produce a limited run of ‘Noel Gallagher’ signature shoes – the NG Garwen SPZL.
Manufactured in a premium leather with an all navy upper and sole in reference to the original Leisure series. The shoe has a split footbed and is finished with Noel’s portrait (on both the tongue and the packaging tissue), it carries his birthday ‘serial number’ inside the collar and has subtle sky blue stitching framing the heel patch.
Noel previously worked with adidas on the NG72 in 2011 which are now a highly sought after collectible. The NG72 are now considered a ‘grail’ shoe by many adidas collectors and the NG Garwen SPZL look set to be their worthy successor.
