For their first project within the adidas Consortium series, Munich based A Kind Of Guise have reworked with the popular 1980s runner “New York” in two colourways and have complimented them with a waffle piqué coach jacket and lambswool sweater.
This model was the first to introduce the now iconic Dellinger Webbing and featured the Ghillie speed lacing system. For their release AKOG have updated the lacing element by extending the three stripes and fusing them with the D-ring eyelets. The upper and tongues are produced in AKOG’s German made, waffle piqué. The collection all contain an allusion to Germany’s fondness for the oak tree – often used as a symbol for loyalty and stability – and this can be seen in the pattern of oak leaves and acorns AKOG have created that can be found on the contrasting oak coloured leather insole.
To add to the providence of the release and as the first adidas New York’s were produced in Germany this release has been produced in the same local manufacturing facility. The coach jacket and lambswool sweater are also made in Germany.
