adidas Brussels

With rumours of its return swirling around up and down the country, adidas make things official and announce the long-awaited return of their revered 'City Series' programme. 

Kicking things off in 2019 is the resurrection of the adidas Brussels. Named after the Belgian capital city that's home to approx 1.2 million people, as well as first division side R.S.C Anderlecht, iconic statues & many...many wonderful beers. The original shoe first appeared in the 1970's assembled in West Germany and served to unveil a brand new city & colour scheme to the already impressive collection that adidas had curated. Making it's first official appearance since it's the shoes inception it's safe to say that this reissue has piqued the curiosity of the adidas faithful.

Up top, we see a rich black suede upper that of course utilizes the classic 'T-toe' construction alongside the textured rubber cup sole unit (aka the Odenwald Sohle) that defines the city series and terrace styles in general. The main pop of colour arrives via a solid orange burst on both the serrated three stripes & the sculpted heel tab. A serrated edge panel sits atop the upper providing a foundation for lace up. The 'Brussels' name is proudly called out in true adidas fashion on the midsection with gold lettering, and this year's series is called out on the collar lining. A vintage styled tongue completes the reissue treatment.
