HANON and Diadora are proud to present a brand new collaboration to celebrate the upcoming Olympic Games this summer.
To mark the forthcoming global event, Diadora take inspiration from the 1988 Olympics in Seoul with the release of From Seoul To Rio - an exclusive capsule collection that will see some of the world's top sneaker doors collaborate on an exclusive line of apparel and footwear.
The IC.4000 and Intrepid are iconic running shoes from Diadora's back catalogue and at one time designed for athletes competing at the Seoul Olympics in 1988. Both shoes will be exclusively reissued alongside a premium track top, t-shirt and sports bag, and reworked by a select group of partners from Europe and the US.
HANON is proud to have collaborated on the IC.4000.
Entitled 'Yellow Eyes', our hanon edition of the IC.4000 approaches the dark side of the Games for direction and looks to the shadowy world of performance enhancing drugs. Juiced up to the eyeballs is the inspiration for the make up of our shoe and also an unfortunate side effect of doping when athletes are making suspicious gains over their opponents due to the 'stacking up' of anabolic steroids.
Crafted at Diadora's Caerano di San Marco factory in the north of Italy the IC.4000 Yellow eyes is executed in an eyes blue colourway offset by a juiced up yellow and popped with white. The shoe features a premium upper of butter soft nubuck and old school closed mesh, and attention to detail appears by way of a 'roid induced eyeball collar lining and embossed heel detail. Dual branding features on each tongue label and a bespoke yellow eyes fade takes a hit on the heel counter.
Three sets of laces - yellow, white and sky blue, a screened cotton dust bag, branded “From Seoul To Rio” tissue paper and box complete the shoe.
For the launch of the Diadora IC.4000 'Yellow Eyes' we will also release a capsule collection of apparel. Comprising of a premium cotton t-shirt, full zip track top and sports bag, with each item also being manufactured in Italy and utilising new materials and colours to give the design, style, and sizing of the original archival ones a contemporary twist.
The hanon x Diadora IC.4000 “Yellow Eyes” was released in limited numbers exclusively at hanon on Saturday August 6th, 2016, and remaining were released online, which ties in with the opening of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.
