Levis announced the arrival of the iconic 1937-501 waist overalls wiath a series of cartoon advertisements to show the use of concealed rivets. Having acknowledged its customers concerns that rivets on back pockets could scratch saddles and furnature. Essential to the hardwearing design, the rivets were applied to the jeans and then the back pockets were sewn over them, covering the rivets in denim fabric.
