Throughout his post as the manager of the England football team in the 60s and 70s, Alf Ramsey repeatedly chose to wear variations of the same jacket and pant ‘suit’. The simple cotton zip-up jacket – with knitted rib collar, cuffs and hem – soon became an Umbro icon in its own right. The A.R.P. version not only incorporates the designer’s football-specific construction lines and inserts, but also provides an ergonomic detachable hood with a unique fastening system. The Swiss Schoeller fabric is finished with an extreme 3XDRY® waterproof treatment. Every seam is completely thermo-sealed with a contrasting white tape, which highlights the complex and architectural nature of the construction, whilst showcasing an attention to detail true to Umbro’s original tailoring roots.
